THE FOOLISH DONKEY
And they brought the colt to Jesus and cast their garment on Him and He (Jesus) sat upon him and many spread their garment in the way and other cut down branches off the trees and strewed them in the way (Mark 11 : 7 – 8)
The triumphant entry of Jesus to Jerusalem was full of glamour and splendour ,for many cast their crowns shouting “Hosanna to the son of David ” but just imagine on the evening of that palm Sunday after Jesus rode on the colt in Jerusalem, the colt told his friends and other colts in the stable “if only you could have seen with what honour I was acclaimed into Jerusalem ‘king of Jews’, I had never before this day known the name of the colt who was my father. I was so glad to know that he was called David before he passed on .The crowd even wished to make me their King. They threw their garment and cut leaves on the pavement that I might walk through.”
Oh! Poor foolish colt ,he didn’t know ,the whole glamour was not for him but for the One who sat on him.
John 15:5c Says ” for without me ,you can do nothing”
For there are many donkey believers who credit the success of their lives to their skills ,talent ,intellects, smartness ,beauty etc.
No matter what your achievements may be ,this year, never forget your background. Without God we are nothing.
a. Dear Father, I extol Your Majesty
b. You alone oh God deserves my undiluted praise
O Lord I acknowledge that you are the one behind the scene of my life .so I consciously give you back the praise and glory that only You deserve.
